Hey hey! Happy weekend! What are you up to? I hope that you have the loveliest weekend ahead. It’s supposed to rain here (BLESS IT) and we’re also off on a little staycation. We’ll be riding horses, doing archery (the girls are pumped) and enjoying time by the pool. I’ll be sharing the fun over on IG stories if you want to follow along over there.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love hearing about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

(Pics from football camp at the University of Arizona! The girls were able to attend as part of Kids of Steele, a local organization that we belong to, and they also got photo ops with Wilbur and Wilma, plus the opportunity to tour the football facilities and meet the football players. It was such a fun event and the kids all loved it!)

Fashion + beauty:

The new Beautycounter AHA toner is heeeeere! I was lucky to get my hands on an advance product sample and it’s one of my favorite new products. I’m so pumped I can finally spread the word because I’ve been using it now for the past few weeks with amazing results.

Here are some more details about it:

Made with a powerful blend of AHAs, beta hydroxy acid, kombucha, and niacinamide, this hardworking toner exfoliates skin to reveal a glowing complexion. Plus, it’s pore refining, helping to improve and minimize the appearance of pores.

HI friends! Happy Friday to ya. What’s going on this weekend? We’ve had triple pool playdates with friends, and we have a dance event with Liv’s studio, I teach barre, and two birthday parties. Whew! Summer, I love you. The girls did a baking camp the week and baked the most gorgeous treats! Churros, French madeleines, a double-layer cake, cupcakes, and sugar cookies with royal icing.

I’m also cranking away on my Integrative Health Practitioner Level One certification. If you have any questions about the program that I can address in an upcoming post, please let me know if the comments section!

Before I head into this week’s Friday Faves, I wanted to share your top products from May. It’s always fun to go through analytics and see what products you’re enjoying from the blog, so here are the top picks!

Read, watch, listen:

I don’t know if I’ve shared this here before, but I’m a huge fan of Common Sense Media. I always lurk this site when we’re going to watch a movie together as a family, and ended up using it so much that I converted to a paid membership. (I think you get three free reviews each month.) It gives parents a condensed version of movie content that may be iffy (and specific details about the situation) and you can decide if your kids are ready to see it. It definitely came in handy when Liv wanted to watch Titanic – I knew exactly which spots to fast forward and when to resume. I highly recommend it for all of my parents friends out there.

We saw Top Gun before taking the crew, but it’s not always realistic to pre-screen movies beforehand.

Hi friends. I hope that you’re hanging in there this week, despite the horrific events that took place. I’ve cried a lot, and hugged our girls a lot, and have been working to educate myself on these important issues and take action as needed. Thankfully our school has already sent a thorough email with directives from the superintendent, even though we’re out of school, and I feel thankful for that. You can join me in donating to the victims here.

In the spirit of keeping this blog the positive space that it is on the internet, I’ll still be sharing Friday Faves below. If you feel like you need to take a break from the internet this weekend to protect your heart and mental health, I hope that you’re able to do that. I also hope that despite the sad news that we’re constantly surrounded by, that you’re still able to find moments of happiness and peace in the weekend ahead. <3

(We’re going to be in the pool the entire time and having the fam over for dinner on Sunday)

What rituals do you have each day?

3 things to bring more joy into your life.

Did you watch the final episode of This is Us? How was it?? I watched the penultimate episode this week (and curled into a little ball as I cried my face off) but haven’t watched the series finale. Please lmk how you liked it!

One of my favorite gratitude meditations.

Don’t forget to check out this week’s podcast episode about anxiety here.

Going with the Pilot (and the entire squadron – they rented out the theater – to see Top Gun) tonight. I can’t wait for a theater full of pilots to shed tears at the opening scene and then spend the rest of the movie heckling the screen. Pray for me.

Fashion + beauty:

Face shaving tips for women. I’m still not sure about this whole thing. I tried a couple of times and I’m 99% sure I had a 5 o’clock shadow about an hour later lololol. It felt like my face was spiky when it grew back, too. Is this real? Do you do this?

Memorial Day weekend sale SITEWIDE on HigherDOSE. If you’ve been wanting a sauna blanket, a PEMF Go Mat, or a Red Light Face Mask, now is the chance! Use the code MDW22 at this link. I use my PEMF Go Mat for meditation every single day, the sauna blanket a few times each week (I sleep so well when I use it and it makes my skin glow), and the red light face mask a couple of times each week.
