Hi friends! Happy Friday! How’s the week going? The weekend is off to a good start: I met up with a friend for a Pure Barre class – the Reform class included bands and gliders for an intense strength workout- and a smoothie. Next was a quick trip to the chiropractor, a stop at the girls’ school, and now it’s wedding celebration time!

It’s my brother Trevor’s wedding tomorrow and I can’t wait for the giant fiesta with the fam. Trevor and his wife eloped in Vegas last year, but now it’s time for the celebration. The Pilot is officiating the ceremony (!) and I can’t wait to see family members that we haven’t seen in forever. I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead, too!

A little something new on the blog: a partners page! I always love (and am so thankful) when you guys ask me for referral/affiliate links and shop through my links. I thought it was would be convenient to put my favorite brands and discount codes in one page so it’s easy to find, and as always, I’m happy to help or send along a link or discount code if I have one.

In full transparency, ad revenue has declined over the past couple of years, and affiliate income has become the majority of my revenue (along with digital product sales/memberships and coaching). I just wanted to say a huge thank you for shopping through my links and supporting the lil blog. The partners page is here if you’d like to check it out!

Random:

New Aviator Nation hoodie. These are the best hoodies in all the land. Betsy got me hooked and they’re SO insanely soft. Once you go AN, you’ll never go back. I opted for a grey one that will match with everything. Perfect for lounging, layering with gym clothes, and travel.

I’m at a special point in life where I get excited by a mouthwash lol. I don’t typically use conventional mouthwashes because the ingredients can be sketchy, but I found this one on Thrive Market that had excellent reviews. It does have a licorice taste to it from the fennel, so don’t order it if you hate licorice, but if you like the taste of fennel, you’ll be a fan.

Hey hey! How are you? Happy Friday! I’m so glad the weekend is here. I’m looking forward to a yoga class with a friend, a mom-daughter date with Liv, Super Bowl fun (not the game, but the snacks and company), and getting caught up around the house. Another something kind of exciting: I’m teaching a strength and conditioning class at the dance studio for the kids this weekend. I’m nervous about it (tough crowd lol), but I’m really looking forward to sharing some tools and strategies that can help support their flexibility and tumbling. I hope it goes well and that they enjoy it!

This past weekend, we had a family staycation in Phoenix for an Air Force awards banquet. I flew from Santa Barbara into Phoenix, did my makeup in the ladies’ room at the airport while I waited for the crew, they swooped me,  and we headed straight to the event. One of our beloved babysitters lives in Phoenix, so she was able to hang out with the girls in our hotel room (they ordered room service and played games) while we were at the ceremony.

2 more years of getting to see this guy in his mess dress uniform so I better live it up. 😉

(My dress is here)

A few friends have asked about the Pilot’s work situation! The Pilot is finishing his Air Force retirement right now and is commander of one of the squadrons. He’s still employed commercially and will head back to the airlines after retirement.

The event was one of the best Air Force events I’ve attended. They had live music and dancing during the ceremony – ballet, modern, and lyrical performances to a variety of music styles. It included the traditional and more somber aspects of formal military events (presentation of the colors, National Anthem, ceremony for fallen soldiers and POWs, in addition to the awards and recognition), and the live performances were such a thoughtful way to make the event even more engaging and enjoyable.

We stayed at the Wigwam Resort, which was where the banquet was held, and the kids were obsessed with it. We definitely need to to back and bring our swimsuits for the water slides! We had breakfast at the hotel before hiking Camelback.

(I had the overnight oats, eggs, and an orange juice, and the Pilot and I split an acai bowl because we both wanted to try it)

The kids said we couldn’t go to Phoenix without hiking Camelback, so of course we had to take them. I love

Hi friends and hellooooo from Santa Barbara! I’m here for a minimind trip – a group of friends and I decided to meet up for a few days to brainstorm, collaborate, and help each other with our businesses – and am having a blast. We rented a conference room for daytime work sessions and have sandwiched it with group workouts and amazing dinners. I always love a little boost on the work front – I always want this space and the content I create to get better and better!- and an opportunity to connect with wonderful friends.

(with Kim, Giselle, Natasha, and Amber!)

This California trip is going to end with a weekend Phoenix staycation with the fam. I hope you have a fun and lovely weekend ahead, too!

Fitness, health, + good eats:

YOU NEED to try these little ice cream cones from Trader Joe’s. They’re dairy-free and the perfect sweet bite! The Pilot has been doing 90% of our Trader Joe’s grocery runs – it started during Rona since he was the one “out in the world” and it kind of stuck – and this means that it’s huge help for our family, but also that I usually don’t get to see all of the new things TJs has in stock. This may be a good thing because it’s definitely minimized the impulse purchases.

We all went to Trader Joe’s after family dinner the other night, and the girls and I acted like we’d never been ther

Hellooooo! Happy Friday! How was the week? I hope you had a great one. It was a quick one over here and I’m looking forward to some fun time this weekend. With school and the kids’ activities I feel like the week is such a blur, so it feels nice to just slow down a bit and enjoy. We’re having family dinner on Saturday night, I’m teaching a barre class, and we’re hoping to hit up the Gem Show on Sunday.

A highlight from the week: my third round of the EquiLife detox! We’ve been doing this as a community, and I love that it resets my nutrition settings, ups my energy, and I feel great. This was the first time I’ve slept terribly during the detox, but during the day, I’ve felt productive and centered.

One of my lunches from this week:

I made this lentil coconut curry soup and it was SO delicious.

In the Instant Pot, I added:

– 1 sweet onion

– 4 cloves of garlic

– 2 chopped zucchini

– Most of a bag of chopped cauliflower

– 3 small chopped and peeled carrots

– 1 knob of ground ginger

and sauteed it for about 5 minutes.

Then I seasoned it up with about a tablespoon of curry powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1 teaspoon turmeric and salt and pepper. I stirred in half a can of crushed tomatoes, a whole standard size box of chicken stock, and 6 oz sprouted lentils (from Thrive Market). After cooking on the soup setting for 20 minutes, I added two big handfuls of spinach, a can of coconut milk, and a squeeze of lemon juice.

It was SO GOOD and so easy! It’s been freezing around here (in the 20s in the morning. My Arizona soul is suffering), so this was very warming and deeeeelicious.

Check out this amazing check-in from our community FB page!

We took the fam to see Bluey’s Big Play the other night. While it was definitely geared towards younger kids, it was super cute.

Hello hello! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? It’s a frozen tundra here in Tucson – 30 degrees. My Arizona soul is suffering – and I’m thinking of living in my sauna blanket at least once a day. Other than that, P has a soccer game, we have a dinner party with friends on Sat (my fave), and I’m looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday.  I hope you have a fun and wonderful weekend ahead!

Something I wanted to include from last week: a class at DEFINE in San Diego! My friend Carina started DEFINE and is an incredible instructor – we used to teach barre together when I lived in San Diego and I always loved taking her classes.

If you haven’t take a Lagree class, you’re in for a treat 😉 It’s SO challenging and totally different than traditional reformer Pilates. I used to take Lagree classes in San Diego but we don’t have a local studio… I wish we did! It was so amazing to see her, check out the gorgeous studio, and take her class. If you’re in the SD area, definitely check it out!

Can’t wait to see A Man Called Otto (and read the book years ago). Has anyone seen it??

This was heart wrenching yet beautiful to read.
