Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving with lots of amazing food and time spent with those you love. I hope you know how grateful I am for all of you! Thank you so much for being here, for supporting my blog, podcast, and other random endeavors, and for being my virtual BFFs. Whether you’re new here (hello!!) or an OG blog reader (THANK YOU!), you mean so much to me and I’m thankful everyday for this little blog and the opportunity to hang out with you all.

My favorite little turkeys:

Our Thanksgiving was perfection. To start off the Thanksgiving and holiday festivities, we met up with my dad, stepmom, brothers, and some friends for the Gaslight Christmas show. Gaslight is a Tucson staple with melodramatic musicals. You cheer for the good guys, “boo!” for the villains, and enjoy a hilarious short olio show after the main production. The actors are all local and extremely talented, and it’s always a fun family activity.

This year, it was Christmas Vacation and it was a HOOT.

(Skirt is here/ boots are here)

Thursday morning, we slept in (praise be), I made turkey-shaped pancakes for the crew, we took a family walk, and then it was baking time!

weekend recap

Hi friends! Happy Monday! How was the weekend? I hope you had an amazing one. It felt so good to be back at home and have a bit of a *normal* weekend. We’ve had so many fun events and activities lately, my body was just ready for some downtime and a bit of a reset.

Friday evening after the mastermind, the Pilot and the girls picked me up and we went straight to my cousin’s wedding in Phoenix.

They had a gorgeous ceremony and reception at the Big Tin Cotton Gin with Mexican food, great music, and a pizookie truck for dessert.

(Dress is here)

Saturday was my bday, and it was the perfect day. We went to P’s soccer game, and then I took the best nap. I woke up to Saffron Indian food, the BEST cake from Lovin’ Spoonfuls (gf confetti with chocolate frosting), and the fam came over for cake.

Afterwards, madre and nana watched the girls while the Pilot and I went to Dusk Music Festival with friends.

Friday Faves + giveaway time

Hi hi! Happy Friday! What’s going on this weekend? I hope you have a fun and relaxing one ahead! I’m catching up on some work stuff this morning, studying for IHP, and fighting the temptation to decorate for Christmas. Usually we’re a strong “honor the bird” family and wait until after Thanksgiving, but this year I have zero chill. Give me wreaths, Christmas trees, sparkly holiday baubles, and all the holly jolly. I’m 100% in the Christmas spirit and want to live.it.up.

This weekend, Pilot is getting promoted to another leadership position, so we have a ceremony tomorrow. Also, our Kleiger fam is here to celebrate!! We had an amazing dinner at Culinary Dropout with them last night.

I’m so happy to spend some time with them and enjoy adventures today with Betsy while the kiddos are at school. The Pilot’s mom gets in today, too, so it should be a great weekend with lots of family/friend time.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love heading about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

Read, watch, listen:

Listen to this week’s podcast episode here with a simple nutrition hack.

An important podcast episode from the Model Health Show.

Reader comments on parenting teens.

The David Foster documentary on Netflix. Betsy told me I needed to watch it (“your boyfriend is in it”) and it blew me away. I was familiar with his background, but had no idea how many enormous hits he’s written and/or produced over the years, along with the talents he’s discovered.

I can’t wait to watch this.

Fashion + beauty:

Got this cute blazer for a steal and the quality is gorgeous. I love the way blazers look with jeans and a tank, or with a dress and Chelsea boots. I figured I’ll wear this one a lot this fall!

I’ve had these Madewell jeans in my cart for about 2 weeks and think I’m going to go for it. This is my truce attempt between skinny jeans and the ridiculously unflatteri

Halloweekend recap

Hi friends! And Happy Halloween to those of you who are celebrating today! TBH, I feel like Halloween has come and gone already, and feeling like I really need to rally tonight lol. Between the Trunk or Treat, class parties, friend parties, we celebrated. The kids have tons of candy and fun memories. We good. But we’re still going to bring it strong tonight. 😉 High fives to all of my mama friends out there pushing through; we’re almost there!

It was a super fun weekend. To kick things off, we celebrated P’s birthday with her friends from school + her cousins! The kids had a half day on Friday, so it was the perfect afternoon for a party at Wild Katz. I love parties like this because the kids can run around, the parents can chill, we sing “Happy Birthday” and eat cake, and done. Minimal cleanup required. 😉

I found this cute banner on Etsy:

ordered cupcake toppers, and picked up green candies from Party City.

For treat bags, I filled them with ninja turtle masks and curly straws, slime, nostalgic candy, and the star of the show was these pizza cookies from Simply Bliss.

Friday Faves

Hi hi! Happy Halloweekend! How are you? I hope that your week is going well and that you have a fun and festive weekend ahead. We have Trunk or Treat and a Halloween party at a friend’s house. I’m definitely looking forward to it!

Some adventures from the week:

Double birthday celebrations! It was the Pilot’s bday on Monday and P’s bday was Wednesday. We had family dinners, and P’s bday party with her friends from school is later today.

The kids’ bdays always hit me a little hard emotionally, and for some reason, 7 feels like such a big kid age.

A trip to the pumpkin patch. It’s a fun yearly tradition and we love riding some rides (like the Cornado), petting all of the animals, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some fave finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

Fashion + beauty:

Some recent purchases! I got these loafers on sale at Nordstrom and said I’d report back. The quality is incredible – they definitely look more expensive than they were – and did not require any break-in time. No blisters, nada. I think they’re so cute with jeans and dresses!
