  • Soy Sauce: Brings salty, umami depth.
  • Olive Oil: Adds richness and helps create a silky sauce.
  • White Vinegar: Brightens everything with a little tang.
  • Fresh Ginger: Adds warmth and a mild spicy bite.

  • Sesame Seeds: A nutty finishing touch.

How to Make Peanut Butter Ramen

  1. Cook the Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain, rinse and drain again.
  2. Make the Sauce: Combine all the ingredients for the peanut butter sauce in a medium bowl and whisk to combine. Pour the sauce in a large skillet and bring it to a simmer until it starts to thicken.
  3. Combine and Garnish: Add the noodles to the sauce and toss to combine. Serve with green onions, cilantro, peanuts and sesame seeds.

How to Make Peanut Sauce

Peanut sauce starts with creamy peanut butter which we mix with boiling water to thin it out a little bit. Using hot water helps the peanut butter combine more easily with the water. Then a few more ingredients, like soy sauce, vinegar, sweet chili sauce and ginger, are added to amp up the flavor. Bring it to a simmer on the stovetop and let it thicken a little bit. Boom! Peanut sauce!

What Does Peanut Butter Ramen Taste Like?

It’s creamy, savory, slightly sweet, and full of bold, nutty flavor. It’s similar to Thai peanut noodles but even quicker to make.

Substitutions and Variations

Protein: chicken, shrimp, or beef

Vegetables: broccoli, bok choy, grated carrots, shredded cabbage or bell peppers

Heat: sriracha

If you don’t have ramen noodles, any type of pasta will work great!

What to Serve with Peanut Butter Ramen

Because this peanut butter ramen is rich and creamy, we love serving it with something fresh and crunchy on the side to balance it out like our Asian cucumber salad, steamed edamame, roasted broccoli or sauteed snap peas.

If you want to indulge even more in classic Asian side dishes, potstickers or egg rolls are also great options!

How to Store and Reheat Ramen

Ramen with peanut sauce should be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It will keep for 4-5 days.

To reheat it, place it in a skillet on the stove and warm it until heated through. If it starts to dry out, add a tablespoon or two of water or broth. It can also be reheated in the microwave if you need it fast.

This 15 minute ramen recipe is the ultimate quick and easy dinner. Made with simple pantry ingredients, this peanut butter noodles recipe comes together fast and delivers takeout-level taste right at home. It’s going to be at the top of your list for cheap easy dinner ideas!
