Spaghetti Sauce Ingredients

If you’ve already scrolled down to the recipe card to see what’s in this homemade spaghetti sauce, don’t be worried about the longer ingredient list. Most of the ingredients are herbs you already have in your pantry! Here’s what you’ll need to make this spaghetti sauce recipe:

  • Fresh Tomatoes: I recommend Roma tomatoes for the best flavor.

  • Onion: adds flavor
  • Baby Bella Mushrooms: adds texture and flavor
  • Red Bell Pepper: adds flavor
  • Mild Italian Sausage: This can be omitted if you want a vegetarian sauce, but it does add great flavor and good protein to the sauce.

Most Delicious Sausage Cheesy Breakfast Soufflé [+Video]

a photo of a piece of cheesy sausage breakfast souffle sitting on a small plate

Cheese soufflé made from 4 different cheeses, sausage and eggs makes the best breakfast casserole of all time! I love it so much and keep going back for more!

Well, I don’t even know what I need to say about this one other than, it’s pure cheese, folks, and I’m not talking about my jokes. Ohhhhh, whomp whomp. Haha, I couldn’t help it.

This is a very old recipe from my family that for once isn’t my mom’s. In fact, I’m not even sure if she makes it at all. But we eat it when we visit my aunt and when I say eat it, I mean, DEVOUR IT.

I know, it looks unassuming and no, I don’t have any idea how I’ll convince you to try it, but you must. You really, really must, because it is the most melt in your mouth breakfast casserole you’ll ever consume. And best of all, you can easily change it to your own liking. Pepper jack cheese? Great idea. Bacon or ham? Bring it on.

This is going in your recipe box, and you’ll be making it until the cows come home. Or so my ancestors would have said.

What Ingredients are Needed for a Cheesy Egg Soufflé?

You’ll be hitting your cheese and dairy sections at the grocery store for this one! For the cheeses, I like to buy them in bricks and grate it on my own. They melt together so much better than the pre-shredded cheese. And you know I always go with Tillamook! Here is your grocery list:

  • Sausage
  • Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Cheddar Cheese (sharp)
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Milk
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Cottage Cheese (full fat, low fat or fat free all work great)
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Green Chiles

The measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card below.

How to Make a Cheese Soufflé

The steps for making a breakfast cheese soufflé recipe are few and simple. It only takes about 10 minutes to prep and then 50 minutes to bake. Here are the basic steps:

  • Spread half of the melted butter in your baking dish and be sure to brush the sides with the butter as well.
  • Combine all the ingredients (including the remaining butter) in a large bowl and stir it well.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake. It should be golden brown and a knife poked in the middle comes out clean.

The instructions can also be found in the recipe card down below.

Skillet Italian Sausage and Peppers Penne [+ Video]

This skillet Italian sausage and peppers with whole-wheat penne is the perfect home cooked meal and it’s all in one pot which makes clean up a breeze!

This dish is a family favorite for us! And it’s weird to say that because I have picky eaters (they are SO much better than they used to be), and usually peppers and onions aren’t on the “yes list” for picky eaters, but in this recipe, they just work! The flavor is bold, and everyone loves sausage and pasta!

When I need to get dinner on the table quickly, this is one of my go-to recipes. All you need is one pan and 30 minutes!

What Do I Need to Make Sausage and Peppers Penne?

Most of the ingredients in this dish are pantry staples, so all you will need at the grocery store are some sausage links, a couple of peppers and an onion. Here is a list of what you will need:

  • Whole-wheat Penne Pasta – you can find this right by all the other pasta at the grocery store
  • Italian Sausage – I generally go with mild uncooked sausage, but you could use spicy sausage or a sweet sausage depending on what you are craving
  • Green Pepper – remove the stem and seeds and slice into thin slices
  • Red Pepper – remove the stem and seeds and slice into thin slices, red peppers are a little sweeter than green peppers so they add another dimension of flavor
  • Yellow Onion – use a sharp knife to slice the onion in the thin slices
  • Red Wine (cooking wine) – we don’t drink alcohol so we cook with cooking wine, but feel free to use whichever you prefer
  • Tomato Paste – a 6oz can, any brand works, just choose your favorite
  • Tomato Sauce – an 8oz can, any brand works, just choose your favorite
  • Water – thins out the sauce a little
  • Italian Seasoning – a dried seasoning blend that you can buy at the grocery store that usually includes dried basil, dried oregano, dried rosemary, dried thyme and dried marjoram
  • Sugar – enhances the flavors
  • Salt – adds flavor
  • Parmesan Cheese – great for a garnish to add an extra punch of flavor

The measurements for every ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post. The detailed instructions for how to make this recipe are also in the recipe card.

Reasons You Will Love This Italian Sausage Recipe

Here are a few reasons that you are going to love this recipe:

  1. Easy: The ingredients are simple and easy to find. The recipe is made in one pot so cleanup is easy. The only techniques you need to know are slicing, sauteing and simmering. Nothing fancy here!
  2. Quick: I live for dinner recipes that come together in less than a half hour!
  3. Flavor: By sauteing the sausage in the pan first, it flavors the whole dish. The peppers and onions get flavored by the sausage and add their own flavors and then the tomato pasta and sauce with the Italian seasoning and red wine add all the flavor you need.
  4. Well rounded: This dish includes veggies, protein and carbs all in one pa

Braised One Pan Sausage and Cabbage and Potatoes – St Patricks Day Dinner

a photo of a large white bowl filled with braised sausage cabbage and potatoes ready to be served for dinner.

I don’t know what it is about these three ingredients combined, but this braised sausage, cabbage and potatoes dish is my new favorite easy dinner recipe! Perfect for St Patricks Day dinner!

I don’t love St Patrick’s Day. I can’t ever think up anything cute and the traps, ohhhhh the traps! They are so fun and I love watching the kids work for hours on them, but I’m also not crafty so I don’t just have doodads and whatsits lying around waiting to be artified.

Last year I was feeling all the feels of an inkling that we would be moving soon and then the dreaded St Paddy’s Day hit. I immediately asked my friend Megan why we had to celebrate and she came back with, “just do the ol’ cabbage, sausage and potatoes in one pot and be done.”

Wait what? No whining alongside me? She actually had a plan?! And so I did, I followed her example and recipe and voila! Dinner was done in 30 and it was delicious! WHY IS IT DELICIOUS!? It is literally 3 ingredients but everyone ate the whole darn thing. AND what was leftover I put in the Food Saver and froze it and oh my goodness, it totally held up perfectly a few weeks later when we had it again!

Ingredients for Sausage, Cabbage and Potatoes

Are you ready for the 6 (possibly 7) ingredients you need to make this quick and easy dinner? This is what you will need:

  • Sausage: you can use any type of sausage you want…chicken, turkey, pork, etc…bratwurst also works or a kielbasa
  • Potatoes: I prefer the flavor of Yukon Gold potatoes, but red potatoes would also work or just plain Russets, peeling is optional
  • Red or Yellow Onion: either type works great, it just depends on which flavor your prefer
  • Cabbage: regular green cabbage is my go-to, but you could also use red. If you’re using this for St Patricks Day, then the more green the better!
  • Olive Oil: helps caramelize the onions
  • Salt and Pepper: adds flavor
  • Garlic: this is totally optional, it tastes great without it, but it does add delicious flavor if you are a garlic fan

The measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.

Tips for Making Sausage, Cabbage and Potatoes

  1. Cut the potatoes to be the same size so that they cook evenly.
  2. Use a dutch oven, it caramelizes the onions and cooks the sausage and potatoes perfectly.
  3. Don’t use too high of heat when cooking. The onions will start to burn before everything else cooks through.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

  1. Easy: you only need 6 (possibly 7) ingredients, and it is all made in one pot which makes it super easy to clean up and the prep work is minimal
  2. Quick: you can have dinner on the table in 30 minute

Linguica or Kielbasa Sausage and Peppers Skillet

Linguica or Kielbasa Sausage and Peppers Skillet

Sometimes the simplest recipe can taste the best! Linguica or kielbasa sausage and peppers only requires 5 ingredients and it doesn’t get any easier (or tastier) to get dinner on the table!

Cade spent 2 years serving as a missionary for our church, and he totally fell in love with the food there. I mean, how could you not, right?! It is SO good! I’m trying to add more delicious Brazilian dishes to our dinner rotation, and this linguica recipe is my latest! Cade says that it is spot on!

We used to visit a Brazilian restaurant every January here in Utah to celebrate Cade’s birthday but over the years it’s gone from delicious to downright terrible. So, I’ve started making more Brazilian recipes from home, kind of like our pao de queijo!

Linguica is so good but it can be a bit tricky to find so feel free to use any sausage like a kielbasa for example that you’d like! Just be sure to pair it with black beans and perfect white rice, or better yet, some feijoada!

Ingredients for Linguica Sausage and Peppers

Remember how 5 ingredients is all you need?! I am allllll about a recipe with minimal ingredient but still bold in flavor. Here is the list of things you will need:

  • Linguica Sausage – a flavorful pork sausage that can be tricky to find sometimes, so you can substitute other sausages if you want – chorizo would be a good substitute or a kielbasa
  • Mini Bell Peppers – I love how thin and sweet the mini bell peppers are, but you can totally use a full size bell pepper if you need to. I would do one yellow and one red.
  • Green Bell Peppers – just remove the seeds and slice that baby nice and thin
  • Red On
