Ground Beef Stroganoff is one our go-to family meals for when you just don’t want to think. Is anyone else feeling like they’ve made 5 billion meals in 2020? Every day everyone wanted to eat, and not just eat, but 3 meals a day!

AND!! I’m a food blogger!! This is my job! But my goodness, someone feed these people!

Fine, I’ll do it. But I’m making Homemade Beef Stroganoff again because it’s ready in LESS THAN 25 MINUTES!

Ground Beef Stroganoff Ingredients

Despite how luxurious the beef stroganoff sauce tastes, it’s actually made with everyday ingredients you have in your pantry! Here’s what you’ll need to make this ground beef dinner recipe:

  • Egg Noodles: We like the texture and flavor of the egg noodles with the sauce but any pasta will work fine.
  • Ground Beef: We prefer 80/20 or 85/15 for maximum flavor.
  • Onions: a yellow onion works great and dice it small
  • Seasonings: Garlic Powder, Paprika, Salt, Black Pepper, Dried Parsley Flakes, Onion Powder
  • Thyme: We prefer fresh thyme but if you need to use dried, use 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Butter: helps sauté the mushrooms and then mixes with the flour to create a roux for the sauce
  • Cremini Mushrooms: sliced thin
  • Flour: just regular all purpose flour is all you need
  • Beef Broth: creates the base for the sauce, use low sodium beef broth if you want to reduce the salt
  • Worcestershire Sauce: adds rich umami flavor
  • Sour Cream: adds creaminess
  • Fresh Parsley: used for garnish

The measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to Make Ground Beef Stroganoff From Scratch

You are going to love me when you see how easy this beef stroganoff recipe is! It’s ready in as much time as it takes to boil noodles!

  1. Start your egg noodles cooking in salted water.
  2. Sauté the onions in a large skillet or shallow dutch oven over medium high heat on the stove top and then add the seasonings. Cook until browned and then drain the grease and remove everything to a bowl.
  3. Add the butter to the pan and then add mushrooms to caramelize. Then add the flour and stir for a minute or so to cook the flour taste out.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire and whisk everything together. Simmer a few minutes to thicken. Add in the sour cream and stir everything together.
    • PRO TIP: You’ve just made homemade cream of mushroom soup and it’s so much better made from scratch!
  5. Serve over egg noodles in a large pan and top with fresh parsley.

Warm up with a delicious and hearty pot pie soup filled with chicken or turkey, vegetables, and a creamy broth.

Take your favorite comfort food and turn it into the best cold weather soup ever, chicken or turkey pot pie soup! We even added biscuits on top!

It’s like taking our classic chicken pot pie and eating it inside out. We make the filling a little creamier so it’s more soup-like and instead of being in a crust, we top it with golden crispy little biscuits. They are totally optional but I love the extra texture and flavor it adds.

  • Olive Oil: used to sauté the onions and garlic

Looking for a healthy and delicious pasta sauce recipe? This garden veggie homemade marinara sauce is packed with flavorful vegetables and can be made in under 30 minutes. Watch the video tutorial and try it out tonight!

Every kid loves pizza, many love spaghetti so a marinara sauce is a great way to get your children to enjoy more veggies. Try vegetarian marinara sauce!

I’ve never been a big fan of sneaking veggies into food as I’d rather my kids learn to love vegetables, but I see nothing wrong with packing something full of them in an easy to eat way like vegetarian spaghetti sauce.

What is Sautéing?

The word sauté (pronounced “saw-TAY”) refers to a form of dry-heat cooking that uses a hot pan and a small amount of fat to cook the food.

Why Sauté?

There’s only one step that I insist on for this entire recipe, please make sure you take a moment to sauté the vegetables before making the sauce. Think of it like corn or grilled corn. Isn’t grilled corn so much more delicious? Same thing with sautéing vegetables for a dish, the heat breaks them down and really brings out the flavor.

I mean, it’s like eating raw carrots with your roast at Sunday dinner or nice and caramelized carrots from baking in the pan with that beefy babe.

I think that’s one of my favorite tips about cooking. To some it may seem obvious but to a large portion of the public something like sautéing everything versus just throwing it all in a pot to simmer may not be.

Ingredients for Vegetable Marinara Sauce

This sauce really doesn’t need much fuss either. A bunch of veggies, a little cheese and a dollop of butter and you’re good to go. The secret is a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I don’t know why it works but it does. I’ll wait for America’s Test Kitchen to figure that one out. Here is the ingredients list:

  • Olive Oil
  • Herbs and Seasonings: Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Kosher Salt, Fresh Basil Leaves, Dried Oregano and Black Pepper
  • Vegetables: Garlic, Zucchini, Carrot, Baby Bella Mushrooms, Red Bell Pepper, Yellow Bell Pepper, Orange Bell Pepper and Crushed Tomatoes
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Brown Sugar
  • Butter
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Balsamic Vinegar

The measurements and details for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to Make Homemade Marinara Sauce

Honestly, the most time consuming part of this chopping all the veggies before sautéing them. After that, it’s a total breeze! Here are all the steps:

  1. Sauté: Place a dutch oven on the stove top over medium heat and add the olive. Let it heat up until it’s shimmering. Then add the garlic and crush red pepper. Stir for about a mi

BEST Traeger Smoked Prime Rib

A photo of a whole smoked prime rib sitting on a cutting board garnished with fresh chopped parsley.

It’s a Traeger Smoked Prime Rib Recipe and you’re going to go nuts! A juicy, perfectly cooked and the most crazy flavorful prime rib you will ever make!

The recipe that has sealed the deal for me on prime rib forever. You guys, our classic prime rib went crazy on the blog two years ago, but let me tell you, this is the only prime rib I plan to make for the rest of my life. It’s flavor is absolutely unreal and it’s so much easier than you’d think! And you only need 7 ingredients!!

You often think of prime rib being served around Christmas, which it should be, but I’ve been making this all year long! It is so easy and turns out perfectly every time! It impresses guests but also gets devoured by my children. That means it’s a winner!

How to Choose a Prime Rib?

When you head into your butcher to purchase the prime rib, definitely ask for a bone-in roast. Leaving the bones in provides so much flavor and the bones are pretty much a built-in roasting rack for the roast as it smokes. You’ll also have the option to choose chuck end or loin end. Go with chuck end for the best cut of meat!

If you have the budget, buy a prime grade prime rib roast. There are three levels of quality (grade of beef) you can buy in a prime rib – prime, choice or select. We always go with prime or choice, but if money is tight, a select-grade roast will still turn out amazing!

What Cut of Meat is Prime Rib?

Prime rib is also known as standing rib roast. A prime rib is a cut of beef from the primal rib, one of the nine cuts of beef. While the entire rib section comprises ribs six through twelve, a standing rib roast may contain anywhere from two to seven ribs, just depending on what you buy and how much roast you want.

Ingredients for Smoked Prime Rib

It doesn’t take many ingredients to make this prime rib recipe. Prime rib is so dang good, it doesn’t take much! Here is what you will need…

  • Prime Rib: bone-in and 6-8 pounds
  • Kosher Salt: adds flavor
  • Black Pepper: freshly cracked, adds flavor
  • Dijon Mustard: used to create a paste to rub all over the meat
  • Worcestershire Sauce: adds flavor and richness
  • Garlic Cloves: adds flavor
  • Rosemary: fresh, chopped, adds fresh flavor

The measurements for all these ingredients are listed in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to Smoke Prime Rib?

Prep

Prime rib is an expensive cut of meat, so you want to make sure you do it right. Doing it right starts with prepping the meat correctly. Take your bone-in prime rib, and use a sharp knife to cut diagonally into the fat pad and then rotate and cut diagonally in the opposite direction so that you make a diamond pattern.

Crazy Easy Bean and Cheese Enchiladas

Crazy Easy Bean and Cheese Enchiladas

a photo of two bean and cheese enchiladas smothered in melty cheese on a white dinner plate

Indulge in a delicious Mexican dish with this recipe for easy bean and cheese enchiladas. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a gathering with friends and family.

My dear friend informed me the other day that her family loooooves bean and cheese burritos. We were talking about a few Pinterest recipes we wanted to try.  She said that their absolute favorite has to be the Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas, but next up is the classic bean and cheese burrito. Really? Doesn’t that just seem so bland and boring?

I couldn’t get that out of my head for the entire day. What could possibly be so delicious about something so simple?  Mr. Handsome got home he found me working on Refried Beans. Yup. It happened. I took the plunge.

So, we generally are black bean people, but I decided that if I was truly going to try a bean and cheese filling I needed to stick with what’s normal, pinto beans, but do a little something to kick things up a notch. Hence the chili powder and cumin.

These started as burritos as I wasn’t in the mood for enchiladas per say, but by the time I was rolling them up, I just couldn’t resist making them all saucy on top.

I don’t know that this is a meal I could have once a week, as it truly is not the healthiest, but the kiddos devoured them and I actually really enjoyed them as well. It’s that saucy top. Saucy gets me every. darn. time.

Ingredients for Bean and Cheese Enchiladas

You only need a total of 7 ingredients to make this family-friendly recipe. You can also make as much or as little of this recipe from scratch as you want. Here is everything you’ll need if you’re doing it as quick and easy as possible:
