Peaches and Cream Crumble Bars

a photo of a single square piece of peaches and cream crumble bar topped with a dollop of whipped cream sitting on a torn piece of parchment paper on top of a of a circular wooden serving plate.

These peaches and cream crumble bars are the best dessert I’ve ever had with peaches. That creamy filling and brown sugar oat topping!!

I don’t think we even need to talk about these peaches n cream crumble bars. Let’s just sit and stare at them. My good gracious they are good. That buttery crust and topping is everything. It’s a little chewy, crisp, sweet and salty. You could eat it lone and be totally satisfied. But why would you settle for that when you could take it to the next level?

Let’s add a little cream cheese gloriousness in there with fresh, juicy, sweet, golden peaches. That filling is so sweet, rich, creamy and wonderful. You really don’t even understand how much I love these bars. The crumble is perfect for such a lovely filling. And I actually really needed something delicious to take my mind off of something horrible.

And by horrible I mean annoying. I’ve been bit by mosquitoes before, but this time is just crazy. Yes, we are talking about mosquito bites. Haha, I know!! Doesn’t it seem so lame? But truly, they are driving me nuts! The mosquitoes at our new rental house are insane. I have 13, 13 you guys! I got 13 bites in jut 30 minutes the other night playing soccer with my son. So ridiculous.

And they just keep getting worse. The bites are ginormous, as in red and swollen bigger than a golf ball, and the itchiest sons of guns ever. I cannot even explain it! And 3 of them are starting to bruise. Dude, what will make them go away?! See, I did need a little dessert to take my mind off of the itch!

What are the Best Peaches for Baking?

You want to find freestone peaches because they are sweeter and easier to work with. For a list of my favorite freestone peaches, head to our peach cobbler post!

Will Peaches Ripen After They Have Been Picked?

Peaches, like apples, pears, avocados and tomatoes (among other fruits), can ripen after being picked.

The easiest method to ripen peaches is simply to leave peaches on the counter. If you want to speed things up, pop the peaches in a paper bag.

It will contain the ethylene gas the fruit gives off, which hastens the ripening process.

Should the Peaches Be Peeled?

You don’t have to peel the peaches, but my family prefers them peeled in most dess

Easy Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

In this easy Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix, juicy peaches are tossed in cinnamon and sugar and cooked to a caramel-like sauce nestled under the easiest cobbler topping made from cake mix and butter!

I have tweaked this recipe a little because… BUTTER, butter and more butter! I’ve added more butter to cake mix topping and it is richer than ever!

Fresh Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

It truly couldn’t get any simpler than this easy peach cobbler. My family grew up on this cobbler, though we usually had it in a dutch oven. It works either way. I’ll include instructions in the recipe card for baking it in a dutch oven.

There’s nothing quite like having a dessert that was a staple in your house growing up. The smells fill the air and suddenly everything feels a little tingly and magical. You can’t help but take a trip down memory lane!

All I want is peaches when they are in season! They are so dreamy and make the most scrumptious desserts like this peach cobbler made with cake mix. You are going to love the flavor of this one and how easy it is!

What Is The Difference Between Cobbler and Crisp?

A cobbler is a deep-dish baked fruit dessert with a thick dropped-biscuit or pie dough topping. A crisp is a baked fruit dessert with a layer of topping including oats or nuts. If you haven’t tried out peach crisp, you should jump all over it!

What’s Needed for This Fresh Peach Cobbler?

To make this easy peach cobbler recipe with cake mix, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Fresh peaches – freestone peaches are best for baking and they should be peeled and sliced
  • Butter – unsalted, adds richness to the filling and blends with the cake mix to create the golden cobbler topping
  • Cinnamon – adds flavor
  • Cornstarch – thickens the peaches
  • Brown sugar – sweetens the peaches and adds richness
  • Yellow cake mix – I used to say white or yellow cake mix, but it needs to be yellow all the way

The measurements for all the ingredients can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

What Peaches Are Best for Eating?

A clingstone peach is used for eating and snacking. You might not get the pit out but with that sweet nectar dripping down your chin, who cares!

What Peaches Are Best for Baking?

Freestone peaches are best for baking because they are sweeter and easier to use in recipes, but there’s a gazillion varieties. Here’s a comprehensive list if you need help. My favorites are:

  • Early Amber
  • Golden Jubilee
  • Lucky 13
  • Nectar
  • Early Elberta

Strawberry Fluff Fruit Dip [+ Video]

Strawberry Fluff Fruit Dip [+ Video]

a photo of a small glass full of a light pink thick and creamy dip sitting on a serving platter surrounded by cut up fruit including grapes, pineapple, strawberries, and apples.

This strawberry fluff fruit dip is one of the first recipes I fell in love with as a kid and I still can’t get enough of it. All you need is two simple ingredients!

When I was a teenager, I had this marshmallow fluff dip for the first time and while I think it’s from Shannon Mattson —one of the sweetest, spunkiest and most tender hearted people I know — I could also be totally wrong. Either way, this easy fruit dip is pure heaven and I’ve got three kiddos over here licking their bowls clean in order to not miss out on a single bit.

And the very best part? It uses just two ingredients. Boo-yah. There’s literally nothing easier than buying two things at the store, whipping them together and serving with a platter of fruit.

I’ve actually mentioned this a few times, but in case you are new on this blog, fruit and I are the best of friends. I’d actually take it over chocolate most of the time. Most of the time. (I mean, who could ever turn down a hot, homemade chocolate chip cookie?).

Strawberry Fluff Fruit Dip Ingredients

Like I said already, this is such an easy fruity dip recipe! To make this strawberry dip, you’ll need:

  • Marshmallow Fluff – the jarred stuff you can buy at the store, Jet Puffed makes one called marshmallow creme. I’ve also heard you can buy strawberry flavored marshmallow cream, so if you can find that, go for it!!
  • Strawberry Cream Cheese – Philadelphia is my preferred brand, it’s a 7.5oz container

Seriously, that’s all it takes to make this incredible cream cheese dip! The exact measurements for each ingredient and instructions for the making the dip can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to Make Fruit Dip

This strawberry marshmallow dip is so simple to make I think it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare! Here’s how to make fruit dip:

  1. Beat the marshmallow fluff and cream cheese together until smooth.
  2. Spoon into a serving dish and serve alongside your choice of fruit.

Couldn’t be easier, right?! My kind of appetizer! It would be so cute at a baby shower for a little baby girl! Or a bridal shower! It is always a hit!

What to Serve with Fruit Dip

This is one of those fruity dip recipes that works best with strawberries and bananas, but really any fruit will work. Think: apples, pineapple, or even peaches and pears.Read more

Homemade Apple Pie

Homemade Apple Pie

There might actually not be anything better on the earth than a warm slice of homemade apple pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Am I right? Or am I RIGHT?

When I was a little girl I was a cookie lover. Quite a few of my very first memories involve being in the kitchen with Dad to make oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies and with Mom to make Halloween sugar cookies. Which is funny because I never really liked those sugar cookies. I remember Mom rolling out that soft, delicious dough (the dough was yummers, it was the baked cookie that lost its appeal to me) and me stamping out as many spooky shapes as I could. But those things are fading because as I get older I’m finding that I enjoy a slice of pie more and more. Especially this homemade apple pie.

In my experience, you are either an apple pie lover or an apple pie hater. If you read about Cade’s apple pie you’ll learn that my mom HATED apple pie which is why I don’t have a recipe from her. But that seems to be common, a lot of people don’t like apple pie while others adore it. I’m an adorer. ADORER? Is that even a word?

a photo of a slice of homemade apple pie with a golden lattice top and cooked cinnamon apples inside topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

What Do I Need to Make Homemade Apple Pie?

I think most people think apple pie is super complicated and involved, but it is really so simple and only takes a few simple ingredients. There are only 5 ingredients in the pie crust, and then for the filling, I love to use a blend of apples with some sugar, salt, spices and flour for thickening. It’s so easy! Anyone can do it! Here is what you will need…

Pie Crust: flour, butter, salt, sugar, and ice water

Pie Filling

  • Apples: a blend of Honey Crisp, Granny Smith, and Golden Delicious
  • Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Kosher Salt
  • Spices: Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Cardamom
  • Flour
  • Milk
  • Sprinkling Sugar (optional)

The measurements for all the ingredients can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post. I should also mention here that some people swear by adding a little lemon juice to apple pie filling. I feel like it messes with the pure apple flavor of the filling, but if you are fan of lemon in the filling, by all means
