For as long as I can remember, I steered clear of stuffing and dressing. People would tell me that it tasted amazing, I’d take the “polite bite” but it never was something I enjoyed. Stuffing was always the one thing on the Thanksgiving table that I avoided at all costs.

So, when I tell you this is fantastic stuffing? You should probably trust me on that. It is a far cry from the flavorless bread mush I have always thought of stuffing as.

About ten years ago, I decided to try stuffing once again and I started looking around for something different.

I found the original recipe for this stuffing on Allrecipes. Could 1,628 5-star reviews be wrong?! No, they were not.

I’ve adapted the original recipe a bit over time, according to our tastes, and it has become a favorite of our friends and family.

Filled with sweetly tart apples, chewy sweet cranberries, rich savory sausage, plenty of herbs, and perfect cubes of toasted sourdough. This is truly awesome stuffing.

Sourdough Stuffing

One or two days before baking the stuffing: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spread the bread cubes across a large baking sheet.

Toast the bread for 10-15 minutes or until crispy on the outside. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before storing in a bowl or container with a loose cover.

Let the bread dry out for a day or so before making the rest of the stuffing. The bread cubes will seem rock hard when it is

Peanut Butter Dip

Apples and peanut butter are daily snacks around my house. My kids eat a plate of apples with a scoop of plain peanut butter almost every day.

Random but does anyone else have to ration peanut butter at their house? I am not joking when I say my kids treat apples as the condiment on top of peanut butter instead of the other way around.

A few nights ago, I was taking snacks over to a friend’s house for a party and she requested fruit if possible. I had only apples in the house, so I decided to make a quick peanut butter dip to go with them.

I was aiming for something a teeny bit healthier than the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip that I made last year. While I still love that one, it is definitely a dessert!

I bought a huge package of cream cheese a couple of weeks ago; when I was making Cream Cheese Pancakes for the hundredth time – slight exaggeration here, but only slight. I combined the extra cream cheese with the peanut butter and just sweetened it to taste.

Judging from the fact that at least 4 people requested the recipe, (I couldn’t stop laughing when I told them how simple it was) I’m calling this a success.

What’s not to love about an appetizer that takes about 3 minutes to throw together? I learned a long time ago to have a few things in my back pocket that I could whip up at a moment’s notice. This has been added to that pocket.

We were dipping apples and pretzels into this all night and I refilled the bowl a couple of times. If I would have had the ingredients I might have made a batch of Caramel Cheesecake Dip to serve along with this one.

I made a second small batch today and snapped a picture right before my boys inhaled every bite in about two and a half minutes. You can adjust the sweetness as much or as little as you like.

I’ve made this with both brown sugar and honey. Personally, I liked the brown sugar version best, but both are tasty options. (For something a wee bit lighter, try this peanut butter dip made with yogurt.

I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as too many apples. When making apple crisp if it says to use 6 cups, you better believe I am using 12 cups. And so far, no one has ever complained.

This recipe follows that philosophy. Other versions have some nicely chopped apples scattered throughout. Not this one – pack ’em in, it makes it so good!

The secret to the apples baking up so nicely is to use the varieties that are meant for baking. Johnathon apples are perfect for apple brownies as they hold their shape so well. McIntosh, not so much, use those for applesauce as they cook down and get deliciously saucy quite easily.

Back to our brownies – Oh. my. word. Friends! How have I never had apple brownies before now? They are AMAZING. Huge thanks to my friend Katie for telling me about them and encouraging me to try the recipe.

With hints of cinnamon and an abundance of sweet apples in every single bite, the reviews of this recipe have been overwhelming. Double thumbs up every time.

I’ve made these a couple of times already and shared them with friends and everyone went positively crazy over them. The texture is that of a blondie packed with cinnamon apples.

My daughter is obsessed with pork chops. She begs for them, yet barely eats chicken. It doesn’t make sense to me but whatever! She loves this version. Sweet and spicy flavors are almost always a sure win with my family. However, coleslaw? That has not always been a reason to cheer. A few years ago that changed when we tried this recipe for classic coleslaw.

Since then, we’ve tried some pretty amazing coleslaw recipes. This Sweet and Spicy Apple Coleslaw was eaten down to the very last apple slice and ribbon of cabbage.

When I saw corn nuts in the original recipe, I may have stopped and stared. I don’t really even like corn nuts. It just sounded so unusual, I had to try it. And they worked!

Just a couple of tablespoons of crushed corn nuts changes the flavor and texture of the salad from very good to delicious. This is an excellent summer salad that I have made many times over the past few years.
