Sharing some of my tips for a super simple skincare routine with no unecessary frills. If you’re looking for new skincare options, Friends and Family starts TODAY at this link. If you’ve been wanting to try Beautycounter, I’ve made a shopping list with some of my all-time faves here.

Hi friends! How’s the day going so far? I’m finally on the other side of this crazy virus and pink eye situation. I ended up needing steroid drops from the eye doctor (which changed my world) and quite a few days to fight this thing off. I feel very grateful to be over the hump and will hopefully get good news today that I can start working back to wearing contacts again. I still have quite a few days left of washing pillowcases/towels/everything and my hands are so cracked and dry. It’s been a whole thing.

I had to toss a lot of my makeup, and it corresponded perfectly with the Sephora sale and the Beautycounter Friends and Family sale. 😉 For today’s post, I wanted to share some of my tips for simplifying your skincare routine and some of my beloved products (including the ones I’m restocking!).

Even when things are busy or crazy, I’m a huge fan of sticking to a consistent skincare routine. My routine is super simple, but these simple steps can improve skin quality, delay the signs of aging, and help you feel more confident. I definitely notice a difference in how I feel when I’m dedicated to my skincare routine. At the same time, I totally get how it can feel overwhelming. The wide variety of product choices can often make skincare complicated, and not everyone has the time and commit to do an elaborate skincare routine regularly. Today, I’m sharing some practical tips on how to simplify your skincare routine but still get the same fantastic results.

I’m also sharing some of my favorite products below. You’ll see a mix of brands; I like to switch up the products I’m using every now and again. Everything linked below is something I’ve had in my personal makeup drawer and highly recommend.

Simplifying your Skincare Routine

Identify your skin goals

Is your skin normal? Oily? Combination? Are you working on elasticity or wrinkle prevention? Write down a few of your skincare goals so you can keep these in mind as you structure your routine and pick your products.

Choose quality over quantity

This is #1 tip for creating a skincare routine. Don’t feel like you have to buy a ton of products! I’d start with four (details below) and build from there. I’d rather have five high-quality products than a whole drawer of produ

Sharing a full review of the HigherDOSE red light face mask and if it’s worth the cost. This post is not sponsored, but you can use my referral link to check it out and FITNESSISTA15 for a discount.

Does anyone else get a kick out of beauty products that scare the heck out of their family members?

It’s a little toooooo satisfying to turn a corner wearing a sheet mask and watch the Pilot jump when he sees me.

I also have to say at this point, no one is truly phased by my antics anymore. It’s not unusual to see me wearing a charcoal face mask, or a sheet mask, having Frownies attached at various points all over my face, or emitting a lovely red glow as I wear my LED mask.

While I haven’t done any injections – Botox and fillers freak me out. I’ll never say never, but it’s not for me right now – I WILL try anything else. Gua sha, jade roller, masks, serums, facials, give me all the things. It’s fun to share some of my top picks here on the blog, and today, I’m so excited to feature something I’ve been loving and using for many months now: the HigherDOSE LED red light mask.

HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask Review

I’m a huge fan of HigherDOSE (I use their sauna blanket a few times per week (review here) and the PEMF Go mat every single day) and couldn’t wait to try their red light mask when it was released last fall. I’d lurked various brands but wasn’t ready to commit. I was glad I waited because I knew that this would be an amazing product since I love everything HigherDOSE produces.

How does the HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask work?

The HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask can be used for short-term skin goals or as part of a daily routine. The facemask includes red and near-infrared lights that can help to boost mood, collagen production, and skin healing, and can help to reduce wrinkles and sun spots. It’s non-invasive and limits low-level rejuvenating wave

5-minute skincare and 5-minute makeup routine

Sharing an updated skincare and makeup routine that’s perfect for beginners.

Hey friends! How’s the day going? I hope you had a wonderful weekend. P had a soccer game, I taught a barre class, we watched a movie and roasted a chicken, and met up with the fam for dinner. Today, I’m spending the morning studying for IHP (I’m more than halfway through Level Two!) and taking a hot yoga class.

For today’s post, I wanted to share my most recent skincare and makeup routine. I’ve had some recent requests and I feel like I’ve found a groove with products and so many of these have been faves for the past few years. It’s funny because I went to write this post thinking that I’m a major minimalist, but after writing everything down, it feels like a lot of products! So while I use a lot of *stuff*, everything has a purpose, and my routine is SPEEDY. It has to be with juggling kids’ pickup/dropoffs/activities/work/life. I also try to pick products that have safer ingredients with decent EWG ratings.

Here’s what it looks like right now! It changes and evolves over time with new products I find or like, but these are a lot of my tried and true faves.

5-minute skincare, 5-minute makeup routine

Daily 5-minute skincare

Nightly:

Makeup eraser. This little thing is a true wonder. It works SO well and helps remove a majority of makeup, including eye makeup.

Blueberry bounce cleanser. My skin is super sensitive and this is one of the few I can use on my entire face (even around my eyes) without irritation.

Toner. This toner is brightening without being drying. I also will use this one once or twice a week.

Serum. I switch out serums fairly often and this is my latest fave for bedtime, and this is my favorite morning serum.

Moisturizer. I’ll also swap out daily moisturizers and will typically rotate between Eminence and Beautycounter Supreme Cream.

Ingredients To Avoid In Your Beauty Products

Web Admin 0 440 Article rating: No rating

Interested in switching to safer products? In this post, I’m sharing ingredients to avoid in your beauty products and why it matters for overall health.

I’ll be honest, my journey to switching to safer personal care and beauty products began long after my health journey started. I’ve dedicated much of my life to fitness and eating well, but it wasn’t until more recently that I learned what I put ON my body matters just as much as what I put IN my body.

Lack of Regulation

Unlike the food industry, the beauty industry is unfortunately highly unregulated. The last major law regulating this multi-billion dollar industry was passed in 1938 – that’s over 80 years ago! Since then, thousands of chemicals have been introduced and companies can get away with sneaking toxic and potentially harmful ingredients into their products. Asbestos in makeup!? Scary!

My journey of switching to safer products for myself and my family and been slow and steady. I am so grateful I linked arms with Beautycounter a few years ago because it’s been an immense source of education and resources (not to mention, the community aspect and prosperous leg of my business).

As for regulating personal care products, the European Union is leading the way banning around 1,400 ingredients; Canada restricts around 600… and the United States, a measly 30! The FDA currently does not have authority to regulate what’s in our products, so it is really up to us individuals.

Once we know better, we can do better; by purchasing products with safer ingredients, we are voting with our dollar.

Why I ditched my 12-Step Skincare

For years I had dull, tired-looking skin that I spent so much time and money maintaining. Since I’m all about efficiency, I wanted a product that would give me great skin without all the hassle. With that, I’m about to reveal my biggest secret so YOU TOO can clear your skin effortlessly!

SO what’s the solution?

I’ve tested and I’ve seen major results.

My skin has been significantly different the past year testing this product. Like I said, Natural Beauty is so much more than just a collagen supplement. So let’s dive into the top ingredients in this magical bottle to help you understand why:

  • WTF is Naticol®?: Not your average marine collagen. Widely recognized as one of the purest formulas on the market, Naticol® is made from sustainably-sourced fish collagen peptides. It’s been clinically tested to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin elasticity.
  • Hydrate with Hyaluronic: Chances are, you’ve probably seen or heard of Hyaluronic Acid from your favorite topical skincare brands. Hyaluronic acid in the skin binds to water to help increase moisture and reduce dryness.
  • PreticX®: The Gut-Glow Connection If something is off-balance in your gut, your skin is usually one of the first places you’ll see it. PreticX® is a stable prebiotic that helps nourish friendly bacteria in your gut and is clinically shown to increase bifidobacteria – responsible for helping to reduce inflammation and skin sensitivity.

Have you ever seen any collagen powder with these powerful ingredients? I sure haven’t! I’ve waited so long for you to try it yourself and now it’s finally
