Staying Fit While Traveling: My Go-To Workouts + Tips

Web Admin 0 6 Article rating: No rating

Stay active on the go with my favorite Sculpt Society workouts, simple bodyweight routines, and hotel gym circuits to keep you feeling strong while traveling.

Hi friends!

How are you? I hope you’re having a lovely morning. We’re off on a little adventure: we’re headed to NYC! New York is one of my favorite places in the world, and I’m soooo excited for some Broadway shows, shopping, all the food and sightseeing. If you have any NYC tips or new faves, please send them my way! The last time I was there was a girls’ trip with Liv.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how much I love a good travel adventure. Whether it’s a family road trip or a long-haul flight overseas, I always feel better when I stick to some kind of movement routine while I’m away from home.

But let’s be real: staying active while you’re traveling can be challenging. Time zones, busy schedules, limited equipment, and wanting to relax can make it easy to skip workouts altogether. (And sometimes I do just skip workouts while I’m traveling.)

Over the years – between family trips, girls’ weekends, and long vacations – I’ve learned that you don’t need a fancy setup or hours in the gym to feel strong and energized while you’re out of town. Today, I wanted to chat about my go-to travel workouts, how I fit them into trips without it taking over, and the mindset tips that make fitness on the go feel doable and fun.

Staying Fit While Traveling: My Go-To Workouts + Tips

Why I Make Fitness a Priority When Traveling

When I move my body on vacation or while traveling for work, I notice:

My energy stays higher

I feel less bloated

I get to enjoy all the amazing food without the sluggish feeling

It helps me sleep better and manage stress, which is always appreciated

Most importantly, it’s not about “burning off” meals or forcing mysel to do something I don’t feel like doing. I usually look forward to moving my body each day (and it’s one of the ways I maintain my somewhat sanity lol). For me, it’s about keeping my routine, supporting my mental health, and feeling good so I can enjoy every moment of the trip.

My Go-To Workouts While Traveling

Here are my top three ways to move on the road — all tried, tested, and easy to customize to your schedule and location.

1. Sculpt Society App Workouts

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love The Sculpt Society.

It’s my go-to for travel because:

The workous are 10-45 minutes long — perfect for quick movement sessions and I can adjust depending on how much time I have.

You don’t need much equipment (many workouts can be done with bodyweight, but sometimes I’ll use 3 lb weights or an ankle weight)

They combine danc

How to travel without jet lag

Sharing some of my tips on how I beat jet lag and wake up in another country bright eyed and bushy tailed (even while flying economy).

Hi friends! How are you? I hope that you’re enjoying the week! I have another day packed with calls but am looking forward to going live in our Detox group today – just a heads up, protocols are 20% off this week, including the detox.

While I’m sitting here at my desk, I DEFINITELY have the travel bug (again). I read somewhere that constantly needing to travel is some kind of trauma response but we’re just going to ignore that mmm k?  I’ve been meaning to write a post about jet lag and some of the things that have helped me, and figured it would be a good day to share.

Jet lag used to ruin every trip for me. I’d land somewhere new, ready to explore, but my body would be stuck in another time zone: wide awake at 3 AM and crashing mid-afternoon. Over the years (and many international flights later), I’ve tested dozens of strategies to figure out what actually works. Now, I can hop across time zones and adjust quickly, without losing precious days to brain fog and exhaustion.

Here’s my zero-jet lag travel routine.

How to travel without jet lag

Start Before You Fly

The secret to beating jet lag is to prepare before you even step on the plane. A few days ahead of travel, I start shifting my sleep schedule by waking up a little earlier (or later, depending on my destination). Even a 30-minute adjustment each day can make a big difference once you land. Leading up to our last Spain trip, I woke up EARLY (5 and 4:30am) and it was awesome to actually be tired on the plane.

Another tool I love is the Timeshifter app (not sponsored or affiliated, I just love it).It builds a personalized schedule based on your flight details and sleep patterns, telling you exactly when to seek light, avoid caffeine, or take short naps. The app was created with input from sleep scientists and astronauts (!) who deal with extreme circadian rhythm shifts. The first trip plan is free, and it completely changed how I travel. The girls’ naturopath told us about it and it’s been AMAZING.

Smart Sleep Support

Sometimes a little extra help goes a long way.

Melatonin (low dose) – I use this sparingly to help signal my body it’s time to sleep. It’s my go-to for a reset whenever I’m traveling, especially because hotel sleep can be dicey. It’s been a total gamechanger for me.

Magnesium oil or spray – Applying this before bed helps my muscles relax and supports deeper rest.

Sleep mask + ear plugs – Darkness and quiet are non-negotiables. A good mask and quality ear plugs help mimic nighttime even when it’s bright and noisy on the plane.

Blue light blocking glasses – I have bother True Dark and Vivarays and love them both.

Travel pillow + blanket – If I can get a few solid hours of rest on the plane, the adjustment is so much smoother.

Light, Movement & Caffeine

Once I land, I treat light like medicine. Bright sunlight is one of the strongest signals to reset your circadian rhythm. I try to spend at least 20–30 minutes outside in the mornin

Barcelona Gluten-free Food Tour

Sharing a recap of our experience with the Barcelona gluten-free food tour.

Hi friends! How are you? I hope that you’re having a great week. We’re enjoying being back at home even though we’re definitely missing our Spain adventures. After 5 weeks in Europe, I definitely got used to that life 😉

Something we learned during our trip: how much we all LOVED Barcelona. It was our first time and since the Pilot wasn’t able to make it to the part of the trip – he was there for the last four days of our time there – we told him we just have to go back.

A major highlight: the gluten-free food tour, lead by Dvir Bar.

As you guys know, we’re major foodies and love checking out new foods and restaurants locally and when we travel. I’ve been strict gluten-free for two years now as part of my healing journey, and back in January, we learned that P had a severe gluten sensitivity. While I’ve been around the gluten-free block for a while, P is still learning.. and is sometimes (very understandably) disppointed when there isn’t a gluten-free option for her.

To brighten her Barcelona day, I did some research for gluten-free options, and discovered that Barcelona is a HAVEN for gluten-free food options and that they had popular gluten-free food tour. I signed us up instantly.

When the day arrived, P and I were pretty pumped about it. Liv was a good sport and excited to try some new foods.

Our guide, Dvir, was absolutely wonderful. He spoke English (our group of 11 people wer

Travel Wellness Must-Haves

Sharing my wellness must-haves for travel!

Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope that you had a great weekend and that my friends who were celebrating Easter enjoyed a beautiful holiday. We had brunch here at the house, went to see King of Kings with friends, and had dinner to celebrate Trevor’s bday with the fam. It was perfect.

Our Spring Forward challenge starts TODAY so if you’re looking for a lil wellness reset, sign up here.

For today’s post, I wanted to talk a bit about travel wellness must-haves. Some people pack super light and I’m like, “How can I cushion my mini Somavedic so it doesn’t break?”

Maybe one day I’ll be a carry-on only girl, but for now, I just have too many things I like to have with me. I tried to focus on solely the essentials for this post and included all of the wellness goodies I bring when I travel. Affiliate links are included below because many of these are products I’ve used and loved for many years. Thank you so much for supporting the blog by shopping through my links!

If you have any faves to add to the list, please leave them in the comments below!

Travel Wellness Must-haves

Compression socks

These are such a gamechanger for long flights and drives. I can’t live without them because they really help with circulation and reducing swelling. I’ll also get up and walk at least every couple of hours unless I’m sleeping. I’ll wear a jumpsuit or comfy pants when I travel (no leggings) so no one can tell I’m in full grandma compression mode. These are the best.

Rest Eye masks

These are one of my can’t-live-without eye care products, but they are amazing for overall eye wellness, especially if you deal with dry eyes on flights. I use one every single morning. They help to open the oil glands and increase the oil production in your eyes, which lubricates them, and it’s super relaxing. Try them here.

Hand sanitizer

While I don’t think that we should abuse hand sanitizer, I think it’s important to have on hand when you have kids and they’re touching everything, and for traveling. There aren’t always convenient spots available to wash hands, and this is my Read more

How to use credit card points for travel

Sharing my tips on how to use credit card points for travel. Check out all of the details here!

There are some things in my life that I regret. That one time I moved to Tucson and was having a crisis and got bangs. Quitting my MBA program when I was more than halfway finished. Aaaaand not signing up for reward credit cards sooner.

We often heard our friends talking about credit card points, but since we had debt in the past, it was something we avoided. We kept hearing about free flights and lounge access, so about 10 years ago, we decided to go for it. It’s been a total gamechanger. Since then, we have traveled multiple times for free, enjoyed hotel upgrades, lounge access, and have been rewarded for everyday spending through points.

How to Use Credit Card Points for Travel: Maximize Rewards for Flights, Hotels, and Lounge Access

In this post, I’m going to share some tips on how to maximize your credit card rewards for travel and share my experience with the American Express Platinum Card, including its pros and cons. I’ll also share my favorite tips for getting the best airfare deals!

Ways to Use Credit Card Points for Travel

1. Free Hotel Stays & Upgrades

Many travel credit cards allow you to redeem points for free hotel nights at major chains like Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt. Some cards also offer automatic elite status, which can lead to room upgrades, late checkout, and free breakfast. When I book through the Amex travel portal, we’re able to see which rewards we’ll receive, whether it’s late checkout, early check-in, a resort credit, or a room upgrade when available. You also get $200 credit each year for their Fine Hotels & Resorts collection.

(Free room service at our upgraded Venetian suite in Vegas. Our flight was also free)

Tip: Look for transfer partners where your points stretch further. For example, American Express Membership Rewards points transfer at a 1:1 ratio to Hilton Honors but often have promotions offering extra value. Sometimes you can get 2 for 1 points so it’s worth it!! You can do this directly through the American Express website.

2. Booking Flights & Scoring Airfare Deals

One of the best ways to use credit card points is to book flights. You can redeem points directly through your card’s travel portal or transfer them to airline partners for even better value.
