This burger sauce recipe is creamy, tangy, a little smoky, and absolutely the secret to better burgers. Think Big Mac sauce meets your favorite burger joint special sauce but homemade, fresher, and even better.

It takes just a few minutes to whisk together and instantly upgrades burgers, fries, sandwiches, and even wraps. Once you make it, you’ll never go back to plain ketchup and mustard again.

What is Burger Sauce?

Burger sauce is a creamy, flavorful condiment made with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, and seasonings. It’s similar to Big Mac sauce, In-N-Out spread, or a classic fry sauce, but with more depth and flavor.

It adds the perfect tangy, savory finish to burgers and works just as well for fries, sandwiches, and dipping.

Why You’ll Love This Burger Sauce

  • Ready in 5 minutes
  • Made with pantry staples
  • Perfect for burgers, fries, and sandwiches
  • Better than restaurant special sauce
  • Easy to customize for more spice or tang

Burger Sauce Ingredients

So you’re probably wondering what goes into the best burger sauce. Well, let me tell you…

  • Mayonnaise: Creates the creamy base and gives the sauce its rich texture.
  • BBQ Sauce: Adds smoky sweetness and extra depth of flavor.
  • Ketchup: Adds sweetness, tanginess, and that classic burger sauce flavor.
  • Mustard or Dijon Mustard: Adds tang and a little sharpness to balance the richness.
  • Sweet Pickle Relish: Adds sweetness, acidity, and that signature burger sauce taste.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: Adds savory umami flavor and a little extra depth.
  • Onion Powder: Adds mild onion flavor without changing the texture.
  • Garlic Powder: Adds bold, savory flavor that rounds everything out.
  • Salt and Pepper: Enhance all the flavors and bring the sauce together.

How to Make Burger Sauce

To make the sauce, whisk all the ingredients together and set aside until the hamburgers are ready to assemble.

How to Assemble the Perfect Burger

Forget the ketchup and mayo and go for a really good burger sauce. I am a huge fan of sauces and condiments but in the case of the burger, keep it simple, burger, sauce, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Besides the burger sauce, these are the other items you will want to make a drool-worthy burger…

  • Brioche Buns: Always toast your buns. Always. Whe

Fine, I’ll do it. But I’m making Homemade Beef Stroganoff again because it’s ready in LESS THAN 25 MINUTES!

Ground Beef Stroganoff Ingredients

Despite how luxurious the beef stroganoff sauce tastes, it’s actually made with everyday ingredients you have in your pantry! Here’s what you’ll need to make this ground beef dinner recipe:

  • Egg Noodles: We like the texture and flavor of the egg noodles with the sauce but any pasta will work fine.
  • Ground Beef: We prefer 80/20 or 85/15 for maximum flavor.
  • Onions: a yellow onion works great and dice it small
  • Seasonings: Garlic Powder, Paprika, Salt, Black Pepper, Dried Parsley Flakes, Onion Powder
  • Thyme: We prefer fresh thyme but if you need to use dried, use 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Butter: helps sauté the mushrooms and then mixes with the flour to create a roux for the sauce
  • Cremini Mushrooms: sliced thin
  • Flour: just regular all purpose flour is all you need
  • Beef Broth: creates the base for the sauce, use low sodium beef broth if you want to reduce the salt
  • Worcestershire Sauce: adds rich umami flavor
  • Sour Cream: adds creaminess
  • Fresh Parsley: used for garnish

The measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post.

How to Make Ground Beef Stroganoff From Scratch

You are going to love me when you see how easy this beef stroganoff recipe is! It’s ready in as much time as it takes to boil noodles!

  1. Start your egg noodles cooking in salted water.
  2. Sauté the onions in a large skillet or shallow dutch oven over medium high heat on the stove top and then add the seasonings. Cook until browned and then drain the grease and remove everything to a bowl.
  3. Add the butter to the pan and then add mushrooms to caramelize. Then add the flour and stir for a minute or so to cook the flour taste out.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire and whisk everything together. Simmer a few minutes to thicken. Add in the sour cream and stir everything together.
    • PRO TIP: You’ve just made homemade cream of mushroom soup and it’s so much better made from scratch!
  5. Serve over egg noodles in a large pan and top with fresh parsley.

Easy Ham Dipping Sauces [+Video]

Honey Mustard Ham Dipping Sauce is literally my obsession every holiday! ohsweetbasil.com

Elevate your next ham dinner with these easy and delicious dipping sauces. From a sweet honey mustard sauce to a tangy pina colada sauce, these sauces will take your ham to the next level.

These are the best easy ham sauce recipes that I’ve ever had.

Oh, Christmas Ham, Oh Christmas Ham, and delicious ham dipping sauces… Who needs a song about a tree when you’ve got the world’s best brown sugar ham?!

My family has this funny way of eating ham, we eat it with applesauce. It is truly delicious. I mean, apples and pork are meant to be together and while many may not do actual applesauce they really should. We always use my mom’s homemade applesauce which is 10x better than any ol’ can. Or we did, until we found these ham dipping sauces.

My cousin, Robyn works as the manager for the LDS Church’s Catering and she is the one that introduced me to these easy ham dipping sauces.

I don’t know what it is about ham, but I just have to have a little sauce to dip it in.

Ingredients for Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

This honey mustard recipe is my personal favorite, which is funny because I’m not a lover of mustard. I tell you what though, it is wonderful with the ham. DELIGHTFUL. You only need 3 simple ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise: Duke’s is our favorite brand of mayo, but you can use whatever brand is your favorite.
  • Honey: adds natural sweetness
    • PRO TIP: If you want to add a little heat to your sauce, use hot honey!
  • Mustard: Just regular yellow mustard is our preference, but you change up the flavor to your liking with dijon mustard, stone ground mustard, etc.

If you end up with extra sauce, this would make a bomb diggity sandwich the next day. The measurements needed are listed in the recipe card below.

Ingredients for Pina Colada Dipping Sauce

The pina colada sauce is most everyone’s favorite. It’s so fun and creamy and pairs so well with the ham! It seriously tastes just like a pina colada and I’m sure you won’t have anyone throwing a fit about a little coconut and pineapple action. Here is what you will need:

  • Cream of Coconut: head to the alcohol section of your local grocery store and it will be by the margarita mixes
  • Sour Cream: use full fat sour cream for maximum flavor and creaminess
  • Crushed Pineapple: make sure you drain it before adding to the sauce
  • Desiccated Coconut: has a more fine and powdery texture than shredded coconut and a milder flavor

Again, the measurements are listed in the recipe card at the end o

Looking for a delicious and easy rib recipe? Look no further than these Asian sticky slow cooker ribs, complete with a helpful video tutorial. Perfect for a family dinner or entertaining guests.

These Asian-style slow cooker ribs fall off the bone as you eat them. They’re seasoned with a homemade dry rub and a sticky glaze that’s impossible to beat! Make a batch of simple white rice and fresh Asian cucumber salad, and you have a flavor-packed dinner.

The Best Slow Cooker Ribs

We’ve had a slow cooker for a few years now, and yet I really don’t ever use it for slow cooker baby back ribs. I use it for everything else though, like breakfast, meats, soups, vegetables, casseroles, dips, and even dessert, but I haven’t really played around with ribs too much. They always seem a little intimidating as I’ve eaten many a dry rib in my day, and no one wants to be chewing on meat for an hour.

Cade does his fall off the bone ribs, but that recipe is made in the oven and it’s a little more of a process. Not too much, they are still awesome, but I wanted some good and sticky pork ribs that I didn’t have to think about. I feel like this sticky Asian ribs recipe is one of those recipes I want to shout from the rooftops, it’s honestly that good. The sauce is just killer. I’m so excited to be working with McCormick to share this recipe!

Ribs Recipe in Our First Cookbook

This recipe appears in our first cookbook, Our Sweet Basil Cookbook, and has been a reader favorite for years. If you’d like to have this recipe in cookbook form, you can grab it on Amazon. That cookbook is loaded with so many of our family favorites! You’ll love it!

High Quality Spices

One of the things that I get asked a lot is what ingredients do you buy, which brand is your favorite, and what ingredients do you stick with the most?

Well butter, cheese, and eggs for sure as those basics can totally change a recipe, but spices are another big one. Stop buying the cheapest ingredients at the store. If you want cheap long grain rice, go for it. I’m sure you’ll survive,

Panko Chicken With Lemon Cream Sauce

Panko Chicken With Lemon Cream Sauce

A couple of years ago I won a Knorr Cookoff with this Panko Crusted Chicken with Lemon Cream sauce! It's breaded chicken with a creamy sauce!

This panko chicken with lemon cream sauce is one of our favorite recipes to make when guests come to dinner. It’s super easy to make the panko breaded chicken and the lemon sauce for the chicken is only a few ingredients.

I love that golden brown breaded chicken with hints of parmesan cheese and lemon zest. The outside of the panko chicken is perfectly crunchy (the kids think it’s chicken nuggets!), while the inside is juicy, moist chicken.

The sauce is to die for, with its hint of butter and garlic, and that final note of lemon at the very end is what really makes it special.

The creamy lemon sauce tastes amazing over the panko chicken cutlets and it’s even better if you add some mashed potatoes to your plate as well. Trust me. It’s incredibly delicious and tastes very similar to the Chicken Costoletta served at The Cheesecake Factory.

Panko Chicken Recipe Ingredients

This easy breaded chicken recipe comes together quickly and doesn’t use any special ingredients. Here’s what we used to make the panko chicken and the lemon cream sauce:

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Lemons
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Egg
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Olive Oil
  • Better Than Bouillon
  • White Wine
  • Heavy Cream

The measurements for each ingredient can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post. This is just meant to be an overview of the ingredients you’ll need.

What is Panko?

Panko is a special type of Japanese breadcrumb that’s made from loaves of crustless white bread. Panko is typically much lighter and flakier than regular breadcrumbs, which results in homemade breaded chicken that doesn’t taste as heavy but still has that crispy texture you crave.

How to Make Breaded Chicken and Lemon Cream Sauce

First thing’s first, you want to get your chicken breaded. It’s really quite simple, but it makes the perfectly crunchy chicken. Flour, egg and panko bread crumbs mixed with lemon zest and parmesan cheese are all you need.

First dredge your chicken in the flour. We add salt and pepper to this step so that the chicken is well seasoned. Cover each side and lightly shake off the excess.

Next up is the egg. You need to create a “glue” in order to get the panko bread crumb mixture to stick on the chicken. Since you already dipped in the flour you just need something to moisten and create the glue. Egg is perfect.

Last is the panko. Gosh, I love panko. It’s seriously the best bread crumb around. For real. Plus this one has all of the cheese and lemon zest in it to add a burst of flavor to the panko mixture.

Now just fry up the chicken in a skill
