A typical meal in our house with these pork ribs would include our Best Baked Beans and something light like our Garden Balsamic Avocado Salad. My kids love having cornbread with the ribs, too, so sometimes I am nice and make that as well!

  • Short Ribs

Gochujang is a red chili paste that also contains glutinous rice, fermented soybeans, salt, and occasionally sweeteners. It’s thick and sticky and can be quite spicy and very concentrated and pungent in flavor.

  • Is Gochujang spicy? I am a big wimp when it comes to spiciness, so I usually get a pretty mild variety. The heat can vary depending on what brand you buy, so check the label for the heat indicator. We like this one.
  • Where do you buy gochujang? You can find gochujang at any grocery store. It will be in the Asian food section near the soy sauce and

Double-dipped, crispy fried chicken is a crowd favorite with its extra crunch, juicy texture, and incredible flavor. Serve it with creamy coleslaw and warm cornbread for the perfect Southern meal.

Southern friends, I swear y’all are the masters of comfort food. Nobody does it quite like the South—especially when it comes to fried food. And let’s be real, Southern fried chicken is in a league of its own.

Growing up in a home with a dad from Oregon and a mom from Idaho, fried chicken wasn’t really ever made. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t eat it.

Looking back, this is really quite ridiculous and a little embarrassing to admit, but whenever we went out and had a picnic, we would get fried chicken from… well, from KFC. There, I said it.

Oh gosh, lol, it’s kind of funny if you think about it. I mean, my mom cooked all of our meals, and we practically never ate out, but then we go on a picnic and we take a bucket of fried chicken. Bahahaha.

Southern Fried Chicken

It’s crunchy on the outside and with juicy divine chicken underneath. This is the best fried chicken. It is our absolute favorite and totally irresistible. We use tender chicken breasts, but you could easily swap them for thighs, drumsticks, and even wings!

Southern food is a favorite around here, like our smoked beans, southern cheese crackers, and southern corn bread (which is the best corn bread EVER.)

The secret to making the best Southern Fried Chicken starts with the perfect ingredients. Let’s break down everything you need to make this classic comfort food right at home!

Quick and Easy Dinners

Life is so busy especially with three kids who are all in completely different stages of life. We are constantly on the go. We need meals that are healthy, quick, and kid friendly. Some of our favorites are 20 Minute Cheesy Pesto Pasta, 20 Minute Cherry Tomato Basil Angel Hair Pasta, 15 Minute Chicken Stir Fry, 15 Minute Pesto Pasta, and 15 Minute Beef Stir Fry.

These Instant Pot Quick and Easy Ground Beef Burrito Bowls are being added to that list. They are so flavorful and my kids love them! They can put whatever toppings they want on their own bowl. It not only allows them to be creative in the kitchen, but they are also more likely to eat something they have helped cook.

Ingredients for Ground Beef Burrito Bowls

I always like to include a quick list of ingredients so our readers can get a glimpse of everything they will need ahead of time. For all the details and measurements needed, keep scrolling down to the recipe card at the end of the post.

  • Ground Beef: We almost always use 85/15 ground beef when it comes to cooking. It has just enough fat to maintain the flavor without being too greasy.
  • Olive Oil: used to sauté the onions
  • Onion: adds flavor
  • Seasonings: Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Smoked Paprika, Chili Powder, Cumin, Coriander, Oregano and Salt
    • NOTE: For an even bigger shortcut, swap these with 2 Tablespoons of taco seasoning.
  • Rice: just regular long grain white rice works great
