This is the cookies and cream ice cream of my childhood dreams. Frosted circus animal cookies dance through every bite of this memorable ice cream.

This recipe takes the best and easiest ice cream base and loads it up with big chunks of frosted animal cookies. You get the perfect mix of crunchy cookie meets creamy ice cream in every single bite.

And while the drop of pink food coloring that I added is completely optional, it sure does bring a grin when you’re topping each bright pink scoop of ice cream with a dash of fun sprinkles.

If you know someone who loves animal cookies even a fraction of the way that “I” love these cookies, they’re about to have the biggest, happiest smile on their face with every bite. Each scoop of this animal cookie ice cream is a trip down memory lane.

While I’ve been known to add all sorts of fun food items to ice cream, cookies are my go-to ice cream add-in. The satisfying crunch of Nutter Butter cookies in creamy homemade ice cream makes this Nutter Butter ice cream positively irresistible.

Sweet strawberries mingle with crunchy golden Oreos whispering of summer in this lusciously smooth strawberry shortcake ice cream. Rich and creamy vanilla ice cream exploding with pieces of homemade chocolate chip cookies is what chocolate chip cookie ice cream is, and what makes it so irresistible.

Deep Fried Peaches and Ice Cream [+ Video]

deep fried peach topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh raspberries on the side

Deep fried peaches are rolled in cinnamon sugar then served up with cold, creamy ice cream! This family-friendly treat is warm, crispy, and tastes like peach pie took a spin through the county fair – only faster and easier!

Making a Comeback!

This recipe for deep fried peaches might just be the best summer idea I’ve ever had. Nearly 20 years ago, it was one of the first recipes on our site to go totally viral – websites everywhere were buzzing about this sweet, cinnamon-kissed peach dessert. I felt like I had cracked the code on peach perfection.

Then I had more kids. Got more distracted. And I forgot.

How do you forget a dessert that good? Easy – life gets full. Kids may sleep through the night, but suddenly it’s sports, homework, and snack duty on repeat. But as I looked back through our 2000+ recipes, this one jumped out at me. It was time to bring it back.

I love mine with vanilla ice cream, maybe a spoonful of whipped cream, but the kids go all out with caramel sauce, raspberry drizzle – or both, because of course they do. The whole thing reminds me of my mom’s Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler and our Peach Crisp – those warm, spiced desserts that made every camping trip feel like a feast, even if we were eating cross-legged in the dirt.

If you’re loving these deep fried peaches, you’ll definitely want to check out these other peach-filled handy snacks: the chewy, wholesome Better For You Peach Oatmeal Bars and the buttery, golden Peach Dumplings with Crescent Rolls and Sprite.

Ingredients for Deep-Fried Peaches

Let’s be honest – anything dipped in batter and tossed in cinnamon sugar is already halfway to dessert heaven. Luckily, this easy recipe has simple ingredients that come together fast so you can get straight to the good stuff!

  • Fresh Whipped Cream: Optional fluff to finish it off just right.
  • All-purpose Flour: Creates that golden, crispy coating.
  • Milk: Keeps the batter smooth – whole milk is best, but any kind works.
  • Sugar: Adds just enough sweetness to balance the cinnamon.
  • Large Egg: Binds the batter

Matcha Ice Cream

Yes, I did make an ice cream with green tea. And I have no regrets. If you know me well, you might know that I’m not a fan of green tea. It’s just not my thing. But matcha ice cream? It has been a jaw-dropping delicious surprise for me.

This is ultra-smooth and creamy ice cream, with the fresh, slightly earthy flavor that makes matcha so unique. More refreshing than it is sweet, matcha ice cream tastes like a creamy scoop of iced green tea.

When I shared this with several families at this summer’s ice cream party, the matcha ice cream was a shocking-to-me hit with several of the kids. If an adult likes green tea, they’ll likely enjoy this ice cream. But the kids? I wasn’t expecting this one to be very popular with them.

And if I’m being honest, I was genuinely surprised that I liked this ice cream as much as I did. I kept going back to the freezer to taste it again. How I can enjoy this ice cream so much and still not enjoy green tea is a mystery.

And if you happen to already be a fan of green tea? I can guarantee with a fairly high level of certainty that you will love this matcha ice cream recipe.

Matcha Ice Cream

With just milk, cream, sugar, a pinch of salt, a little vanilla, and of course, plenty of vibrant green matcha powder, you can make an unforgettable ice cream. (I bought this matcha powder to make the ice cream, but any matcha you enjoy drinking should work well in this recipe. ) And since matcha is the star of the show here, it gives the ice cream a gorgeous, natural green color.

While I love that this ice cream isn’t especially sweet, you can easily adjust the sugar for a sweeter ice cream. Or, if you want an extra-strong kick from the green tea, feel free to whisk in an extra spoonful of matcha.

Peach Sorbet

Peach sorbet is a cold, refreshing bite of summer on a spoon. It’s bright, flavorful, and bursting with juicy sweetness. Made with just peaches, lemon juice, sugar, and a pinch of salt, peach sorbet is proof that the simplest recipes are often the best.

Peach Sorbet

This almost unbelievably easy-to-make recipe blends ripe peaches and a bit of sugar into a smooth puree, then freezes it into a light, scoopable treat that’s naturally dairy-free and vegan.

The lemon keeps the flavor vibrant, while a tiny pinch of salt almost magically makes the peaches taste even more peachy.

One of the things I love most about sorbet is how it captures fruit flavors at their best. When peaches are in season, they’re so sweet and flavorful that you barely need to do anything to them. Just blend them with a little sugar to help them freeze nicely and stay scoopable, and you’re good to go.

Depending on how sweet your peaches are, you may need to increase the sugar amount slightly. If your peaches are super sweet, the listed amount of sugar should be fine. Taste the puree and add more, if desired.

Fruit Sorbet

Fruit sorbets are quick to make, perfect for hot days, and fancy enough to serve to guests. Whether you scoop your sorbet into a bowl, a cone, or serve it with a splash of vodka (if you know, you know, this lemon sorbet was my introduction to that memorable combination), sorbet is a

Grape Ice Cream

Creamy and sweet, this grape ice cream is an unexpected delight on a hot summer afternoon. If you enjoyed grape popsicles as a kid, this ice cream is a nostalgic flavor bomb.

I mentioned a few weeks ago, when I shared the Nerds Ice Cream with you, that I was working on a recipe for grape ice cream. And thanks to a suggestion from an awesome reader, (Hi, Tim!) I have a terrific new ice cream to share with you at last.

After attempting to make a grape-flavored ice cream using grape juice, soda, and even snow cone syrup, and not loving those ice cream attempts much at all, I made this batch of ice cream with a simple packet of grape Koolaid. And what a difference it made!

The most popular question I get is whether it’s possible to make ice cream without a machine. The answer is YES. You can make ice cream without a machine. Find the full directions here!

Grape Ice Cream

This ice cream tastes like grape candy turned into ice cream, and I’m thrilled to tell you that even this non-grape-flavor-loving girl enjoyed it. And the grape candy lovers in my life? Oh man, this ice cream was an enormous hit.

I’d started doubting we’d ever find an ice cream in this flavor that we would like enough to share with you, but this one? It’s a huge success. If you enjoy grape-flavored treats, you’re likely to flip for this ice cream.
