Suggested Products

These are all affiliate links for amazon but you can go to a store to find a lot too. Amazon is just easiest.
  • Potato Gems or Pearls – We use these dehydrated potatoes as they seem to give the best flavor and texture.
  • Dough Scraper – Any ol’ scraper will do but we prefer a plastic scraper to scrape the dough and flour off our counter and out of bowls for 10x faster clean up.
  • Silpat Baking Mat – We bake everything on a silpat; cookies, rolls and even loaf breads cook evenly and without sticking! No spray needed!
  • Nordic Ware Cookie Sheet – The cookie sheet you use absolutely can make or break your recipe. If it’s too dark it will cause your food to look dark and over-bake. You want a cookie sheet that bakes evenly and won’t affect color.
  • Stainless Mixing Bowls – I love glass mixing bowls, but the truth is, everyone should have good stainless bowls in all sizes and these are great ones.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Sugar: Feeds the yeast to help the dough rise and adds a touch of sweetness that enhances flavor. It also promotes browning, giving your rolls that beautiful golden color.
  • Unsalted Butter: Butter adds richness, tenderness, and flavor to the rolls. The fat coats the flour proteins, which limits gluten development — that’s why your potato rolls turn out so soft and melt-in-your-mouth.
  • Milk: Milk makes the dough tender and adds subtle sweetness and flavor. The natural sugars in milk also help with browning, while the proteins contribute to a soft, rich crumb.
  • Potato Flakes: This is your secret weapon! Potato flakes (or mashed potatoes) make the rolls extra soft and moist by attracting and holding onto moisture.
  • Salt: Balances the sweetness, enhances flavor, and strengthens the gluten structure so your rolls rise evenly and hold their shape.
    • PRO TIP: Always add salt after the yeast has been mixed in with other ingredients to avoid slowing yeast activity.
  • Instant Yeast: The leavening agent that makes your rolls rise. Instant yeast works quickly and doesn’t require proofing in water first — just mix it right in with the dry ingredients.
  • Eggs: Eggs add richness, flavor, and beautiful go

This lasagna soup recipe has everything you love about classic lasagna with savory meat, tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and plenty of melty cheese all in one cozy bowl.

A few years ago my husband and I had the chance to go to New York and film two episodes of Paula’s Party. It was such a fun experience. We even got to meet Carson Kressley, Cheri Oteri, Jason Priestly and a bunch of others. One of the dishes Paula made was Tastes Like Lasagna Soup and it smelled amazing. We were so disappointed we didn’t get to taste it, so when we got home we created our own version. It quickly became a favorite.

There’s just something about lasagna soup that feels like home. It’s saucy, cheesy, cozy, and truly the best kind of comfort food.

Ingredients for Lasagna Soup

This soup recipe is a cross between a creamy soup and broth soup due to the addition of a little ricotta. It’s hearty, beefy, and delicious. In other words, perfection. Here is what you will need:

Easy Ham Dipping Sauces [+Video]

Honey Mustard Ham Dipping Sauce is literally my obsession every holiday! ohsweetbasil.com

Elevate your next ham dinner with these easy and delicious dipping sauces. From a sweet honey mustard sauce to a tangy pina colada sauce, these sauces will take your ham to the next level.

These are the best easy ham sauce recipes that I’ve ever had.

Oh, Christmas Ham, Oh Christmas Ham, and delicious ham dipping sauces… Who needs a song about a tree when you’ve got the world’s best brown sugar ham?!

My family has this funny way of eating ham, we eat it with applesauce. It is truly delicious. I mean, apples and pork are meant to be together and while many may not do actual applesauce they really should. We always use my mom’s homemade applesauce which is 10x better than any ol’ can. Or we did, until we found these ham dipping sauces.

My cousin, Robyn works as the manager for the LDS Church’s Catering and she is the one that introduced me to these easy ham dipping sauces.

I don’t know what it is about ham, but I just have to have a little sauce to dip it in.

Ingredients for Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

This honey mustard recipe is my personal favorite, which is funny because I’m not a lover of mustard. I tell you what though, it is wonderful with the ham. DELIGHTFUL. You only need 3 simple ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise: Duke’s is our favorite brand of mayo, but you can use whatever brand is your favorite.
  • Honey: adds natural sweetness
    • PRO TIP: If you want to add a little heat to your sauce, use hot honey!
  • Mustard: Just regular yellow mustard is our preference, but you change up the flavor to your liking with dijon mustard, stone ground mustard, etc.

If you end up with extra sauce, this would make a bomb diggity sandwich the next day. The measurements needed are listed in the recipe card below.

Ingredients for Pina Colada Dipping Sauce

The pina colada sauce is most everyone’s favorite. It’s so fun and creamy and pairs so well with the ham! It seriously tastes just like a pina colada and I’m sure you won’t have anyone throwing a fit about a little coconut and pineapple action. Here is what you will need:

  • Cream of Coconut: head to the alcohol section of your local grocery store and it will be by the margarita mixes
  • Sour Cream: use full fat sour cream for maximum flavor and creaminess
  • Crushed Pineapple: make sure you drain it before adding to the sauce
  • Desiccated Coconut: has a more fine and powdery texture than shredded coconut and a milder flavor

Again, the measurements are listed in the recipe card at the end o

Crazy Easy Bean and Cheese Enchiladas

a photo of two bean and cheese enchiladas smothered in melty cheese on a white dinner plate

Indulge in a delicious Mexican dish with this recipe for easy bean and cheese enchiladas. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a gathering with friends and family.

My dear friend informed me the other day that her family loooooves bean and cheese burritos. We were talking about a few Pinterest recipes we wanted to try.  She said that their absolute favorite has to be the Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas, but next up is the classic bean and cheese burrito. Really? Doesn’t that just seem so bland and boring?

I couldn’t get that out of my head for the entire day. What could possibly be so delicious about something so simple?  Mr. Handsome got home he found me working on Refried Beans. Yup. It happened. I took the plunge.

So, we generally are black bean people, but I decided that if I was truly going to try a bean and cheese filling I needed to stick with what’s normal, pinto beans, but do a little something to kick things up a notch. Hence the chili powder and cumin.

These started as burritos as I wasn’t in the mood for enchiladas per say, but by the time I was rolling them up, I just couldn’t resist making them all saucy on top.

I don’t know that this is a meal I could have once a week, as it truly is not the healthiest, but the kiddos devoured them and I actually really enjoyed them as well. It’s that saucy top. Saucy gets me every. darn. time.

Ingredients for Bean and Cheese Enchiladas

You only need a total of 7 ingredients to make this family-friendly recipe. You can also make as much or as little of this recipe from scratch as you want. Here is everything you’ll need if you’re doing it as quick and easy as possible:

  • Refried Beans: If you have the time, make our amazing refried beans from scratch. If you want to save time, we highly recommend La Costeña brand.
  • Cumin: adds flavor
  • Chili Powder: adds flavor and a little heat
  • Cheddar Cheese: shred it yourself and we use it inside the enchiladas and all over the top
    • PRO TIP: Monterey jack cheese makes a great substitute if needed.
  • Flour Tortillas: We are obsessed with Vista Hermosa brand flour tortillas. You could also make homemade tortillas if you’re a superstar!

For the Sauce

  • Red Enchilada Sauce: You can make you’re own homemade enchilada sauce or buy your favorite store-bought brand.
  • Cumin: adds flavor
  • Chili Powder: adds flavor and some heat

Healthy Chocolate and Strawberries

a photo of a small bowl filled with creamy chocolate yogurt dip with a whole strawberry dipped in it and strawberries scattered all around it

Indulge in a delicious and nutritious treat with this recipe for healthy chocolate and strawberries. Perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings without any guilt!

My girlfriend is always saying that she needs to stop eating my treats because I’m always having her try my “experiments”. The other day I was thinking of making a fruit and dip experiment as a healthier treat for her. I was trying to think of something to do with Nutella and strawberries…stuff them, mix it with cool whip, etc, but nothing seemed right.

We had a little vanilla greek yogurt, so I tried swirling a little with the Nutella. Healthy Chocolate and Strawberries was born! It’s fresh and delicious, and much healthier than your typical dip. In fact, one little Chobani Greek yogurt has 16g of protein. Much better for you than chocolate sauce, wouldn’t you say?

So, we concluded that this is the perfect after school snack, fruit and dip for a party, or a late night treat. It tastes like chocolate covered strawberries but with less work and they are fresh, healthy and delicious.

Ingredients for Healthy Chocolate Dip Recipe

You only need 2 ingredients for this healthy chocolate fruit dip! It’s so simple, the kiddos could even make it on their own. Here is what you need:

  • Vanilla Greek Yogurt: choose your favorite brand, we prefer Chobani
  • Nutella: you can buy large jars at Costco for a great price

You can scale this recipe up for larger gatherings or make a single serving for a quick healthy snack. Using Nutella for the chocolate flavor is so tasty! No cocoa powder needed, which means it is plenty sweet with the vanilla yogurt and Nutella combined.

What to Serve with Chocolate Yogurt Dip

I am a total sucker for all things strawberry! You all know that my favorite dessert of all time is strawberry shortcake, so I always default to strawberries or anything berry.

But you don’t have to stop at just strawberries with this chocolate yogurt dip. This a list of great options for dipping in this yogurt Nutella dip:

  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Pretzels
  • Nilla Wafers
  • Graham Crackers

NOTE: If you like a little texture in your chocolate fruit dip, toss a few mini chocolate chips in it.

Variation for Chocolate Fruit Dip

So hear me out…this makes a fabulous dip for fruit or other treats, but since we are using yogurt as the base for the dip, we could also use it in a yogurt parfait. Spoon some Nutella yogurt into a small glass, add some sliced strawberries o
